How to fill in the Layout Settings

If you already have your label design file(s) saved on your computer, you can upload them here, set the label size and a few layout options, and we'll instantly generate a printout formatted for precise printing on these custom-sized labels using any inkjet or laser printer.
This method is best suited for printing on plain paper or plain adhesive sheets when you plan to cut the labels out yourself.
You can find more information about each setting below.

  • Paper Format
We support the two standard paper sizes used worldwide: Letter (8.5 × 11 inches) and A4 (210 × 297 mm). Please select the one you use.
  • Label Width
The width of a single label. If necessary, the system will reduce the size of the design image (both width and height) to ensure it fits within this width.
However, the system will never enlarge your image to the point where its resolution is reduced, as this could lead to pixelation or blurry printouts. Make sure your image file has sufficient resolution for the selected label size. For example, a 200×200 pixel image does not have enough resolution to fill a 4×4 inch label. At typical print resolutions, it would appear much smaller - around 1.3 inches square - and be centered on the label.
  • Label Height
The height of a single label. The same image quality considerations mentioned for label width also apply to label height.
In addition, the width-to-height ratio of the label should closely match that of the design image; otherwise, empty space may appear around the printed labels. For this reason, based on the label width (which you should enter first), the system automatically suggests a label height value for you.
  • Print to edge
Some printers can print to the edge of the paper, while others cannot. Based on your printer’s capability, you can choose to print to the edge or have the system apply a 0.25-inch or 6.5 mm margin on all sides - top, bottom, left, and right.
  • Cutting guides
If you intend to print the labels on plain paper and cut them out yourself, cross-shaped guides will appear at the corners of each label to help make cutting easier and more precise.
  • Labels to skip
This setting is useful if you are reusing a label sheet where you have already printed and peeled off a number of labels, and now want to print on the remaining ones - helping you avoid wasting the entire sheet.
  • Labels to print
The number of labels that will be printed depends on the value you set in this field, as well as the number of label images you upload. If the value you set here is smaller than the number of uploaded images, it will be ignored, and the printout will include at least one label for each uploaded image. If the first label sheet runs out of available labels, the remaining images will be printed on additional sheets (second, third, and so on).

Note that the same settings are also available when printing custom-sized labels through our integrations with Canva, Adobe Express, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
